Several hundred residents attended the packed meeting and listened attentively as the Action Group committee updated residents on their actions since the first meeting on 17 August. Local District and Parish Councillors and Bill Esterson MP also attended the meeting.
Many residents asked questions and suggested ways forward. The local representative of CPRE explained the issues and Bill Esterson also gave advice on the result of recent changes in Planning Law.
There was complete agreement the campaign would continue with a focus on resisting all Green belt Development in general. The specific campaign focused on the land off Liverpool Road will also continue. Various suggestions for high visibility action were made and at the end of the meeting residents volunteered in numbers to take part. The meeting finished with a collection to support the campaign.
